Motion design for agencies

WHO IT’S FOR

For agencies that want to produce motion design without building an in-house video team.

AGENCIES

Motionlab supports agencies that need to produce motion design without building an in-house video team.

A new business pitch, a video for a client, a social media campaign, an agency presentation or a recurring need: we handle the entire production, from script to sound design.

Delivered in 10 days. Unlimited revisions. A single point of contact.

A motion studio whenever you need one

In an agency, video needs are never perfectly predictable. An RFP lands. A client wants to add a video to their campaign. A presentation has to be ready by Friday. Three extra formats show up in the brief.

And hiring an in-house motion designer to absorb a few projects a month doesn’t always make sense. That’s where Motionlab comes in.

We become your on-demand motion design capacity, without saddling you with the overhead of an in-house studio. You keep the client relationship and stay in charge of the project. We handle the production.

Why agencies work with Motionlab

Absorb a production spike

Your creative team is already busy, but a new video request comes in. Instead of pushing the project back or looking for a different vendor every time, you send us the brief and your team stays focused on its priorities.

Add motion to a client proposal

You’re preparing a campaign, a brand identity or a launch and want to offer a video component without having the expertise in-house. We take care of the motion design, working from your concept and your art direction.

Strengthen a pitch or RFP response

An idea is often far more convincing when people can actually see it. We produce videos and animations that make a concept, a campaign or an experience more tangible in a new business pitch.

Produce regularly without hiring

Some agencies need a video every two months, others several times a month. Either way, building a permanent team isn’t always cost-effective. An ongoing collaboration keeps the same level of quality, the same working habits and a process that gets faster with every project.

The videos we produce for agencies

Agency presentation video

Present your positioning, expertise, method or past work in a format that’s quick to grasp, on your website, in a meeting or in a sales deck.

Pitch and new business

Turn a strategic or creative proposal into animated content, so the client can visualize the idea before it’s even produced.

Campaign videos

Motion design built to support a communications or acquisition campaign. The main creative is then adapted to each channel.

Social media content

Short, punchy formats for LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok or paid campaigns, delivered in 16:9, 1:1 and 9:16.

Branded graphics for existing content

Interviews, testimonials, live-action videos, demos or brand content can be enhanced with:

  • animated typography

  • transitions

  • illustrations

  • data and charts

  • branding elements

Motion design doesn’t have to replace live-action video: it can also make it much clearer and more recognizable.

Already have the art direction? Perfect.

Not every agency needs the same level of support. If your team has already produced the concept, script, storyboard, assets or art direction, we only handle the production that’s still needed.

On the other hand, if you simply send us a client brief, we take care of the whole project: scoping → script → storyboard → art direction → animation → voiceover → music → sound design → exports.

The goal is simple: you never pay for or manage steps you don’t need. To prepare for that first conversation, see our guide on how to brief a motion design agency.

Two agencies, two different needs

We have worked with agencies such as Ikovaline and Blinq Agency, each operating in a different digital space. For Ikovaline, an agency specializing in building SaaS products, web apps and business software, the video had to establish a premium positioning and present a broad offering without reducing it to a catalog of services.

This kind of collaboration sums up our role. We’re not trying to replace the agency: we bring video production expertise that complements its own. Depending on the project, the starting point can be an idea that still needs structure or, on the contrary, a fully defined art direction that just needs to be set in motion.

How we work with agencies

Our process is deliberately short.

  • 1. Brief: you share the context, target audience, goals, constraints and any materials already produced. We identify what can be used and what still needs to be built.

  • 2. Script: when the project needs a narrative or a voiceover, we structure the message before we start designing.

  • 3. Storyboard: every scene is laid out and approved before animation, by your team and, if needed, by your client.

  • 4. Motion design: we animate the approved scenes and add the voiceover, music and sound design.

  • 5. Adaptations: when the project needs to live across several channels, we adapt it to the main delivery formats.

All with a single point of contact and unlimited revisions.

Why 10-day delivery changes the relationship with an agency

For an agency, speed isn’t just a nice-to-have: sometimes it determines whether the project can be sold at all. When video production needs several weeks of scheduling before it even starts, it becomes hard to fit into certain briefs.

Our setup is designed to deliver our standard formats in 10 days. That way, motion design fits into the kind of timelines agencies actually work with:

  • RFP

  • campaign

  • client presentation

  • launch

  • social media activation

Agency, freelancer or in-house production?

All three models can make sense.

Model

When to choose it

In-house production

When your video needs are regular and large enough to keep a team busy.

Freelance motion designer

When your project is well scoped and you mainly need a specific animation skill.

Motionlab studio

When you want to delegate the entire production or access several skill sets through a single point of contact.

We break down this choice in our guide on choosing between a freelancer and a motion design agency.

What a Motionlab project includes

Depending on the project’s needs:

  • scoping

  • script

  • storyboard

  • art direction

  • illustration

  • animation

  • voiceover

  • licensed music

  • sound design

  • format adaptations

You can bring us in at the very start of your thinking or much later in your production pipeline. To estimate a budget, see our guide to motion design video pricing.

Motionlab in numbers

  • 65+ clients served

  • 10 days of production for our standard formats

  • Unlimited revisions

Our goal isn’t to add another layer to your organization. It’s to remove one.

Frequently asked questions

Can Motionlab work from our own art direction?

Yes. If your team has already created the art direction, illustrations or storyboard, we only handle the remaining production steps.

Can you work directly on a project for one of our clients?

Yes. We fit into your organization and produce what’s needed from the brief, concept or assets provided by your team.

Can we hand you several projects a month?

Yes. An ongoing collaboration is actually especially well suited to agencies: briefs get faster, we gradually learn your methods and the quality stays consistent from one production to the next.

How long does it take to produce a video?

Our standard formats are delivered in 10 days once the project has kicked off and the required materials are available.

Are revisions limited?

No. Our projects include unlimited revisions, so you can reach an approved version without every round of feedback turning into a new line on the quote.

Can you write the script?

Yes. We handle the project from defining the message all the way to the final animation, or we only step in on certain stages if your agency already has the script.

Do you create social media formats?

Yes. Productions are adapted to 16:9, 1:1 and 9:16 formats for your website, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok or ad campaigns.

How much does a video cost for an agency?

The price mainly depends on the length, the level of creative work required and the materials your team already provides. Every project is scoped before production to clarify what your agency handles and what Motionlab needs to produce.

Need extra motion design capacity for an upcoming project?

Have a pitch to finalize, a campaign to produce or simply a client brief your team can’t absorb? Send us the project, even if it isn’t fully scoped yet. We’ll tell you what we can take on and how to fit it into your schedule.
