KACTUS

Motionlab partnered with Kactus to create an English-language video for its international expansion: convincing European venues and suppliers to join its network.

The goal: show how much business the platform can bring in and remove the friction around signing up, without ever coming across as a subscription pitch.

The client: Kactus

Kactus is the leading B2B platform and marketplace for organizing corporate events in Europe.

With more than 50,000 listed partners, 3,500 events managed every month and 70 major international accounts under framework agreements, it centralizes the entire event planning process, from venue search all the way to booking.

The challenge: speaking to partners, not customers

A marketplace has two audiences. On one side, the companies that organize events. On the other, the venues and suppliers that host them. They have different expectations and respond to different arguments.

This video speaks to the second group: professionals who already receive their share of solicitations and who, quite reasonably, wonder what yet another platform will actually do for them.

So our challenge was to build a video that could:

  • show the volume of business that is genuinely within reach;

  • prove the platform’s credibility across Europe;

  • remove the friction around signing up;

  • speak to a non-French-speaking audience;

  • work directly as a sales prospecting tool.

Our approach: a four-part story

We produced a premium, fast-paced and decidedly business-focused motion design video, built around four arguments presented in a deliberate order:

  • the volume of business within reach;

  • the boost in visibility;

  • the qualification of incoming requests;

  • the model with no sign-up fees and no commitment.

That order is no accident. We open with the most tangible benefit (potential revenue) and close by removing the last objection: there is no risk in signing up.

Every sequence was designed to establish Kactus’s credibility at a European scale and turn the video into a genuine prospecting tool.

Showing numbers without turning the video into an infographic

50,000 partners, 3,500 events a month, 70 major accounts under framework agreements: these numbers are the core argument. But lined up on screen, they quickly become unreadable.

Motion design lets them appear one at a time, at the exact moment the narration makes them useful. The data is no longer decorative: it becomes proof of the point that was just made.

Why an English video for international expansion?

Motion design adapts to new markets far more easily than live-action footage. There are no actors, no sets and no accents tying the video to a single country.

The same visual world can carry the message across several European markets, simply by adapting the voiceover and on-screen text. For a platform expanding beyond France, it is a reusable asset rather than a production that has to be redone.

What this project shows

Kactus shows that a marketplace rarely needs just one video. Each side of the network has its own objections, and a video designed for buyers won’t win over partners.

When the core argument is business volume, the job of motion design is to make that volume tangible, then remove the reasons not to sign up, one by one.

We had previously produced the launch video for Kactus Connect, Kactus’s app for event teams. See the Kactus Connect case study.
